Wayne B. Burkhart

Wayne B. Burkhart York Wayne B. Burkhart 86, formerly of Glen Rock, died Tuesday January 17, 2017 at Spiritrust Lutheran, York. He was the husband of Irma R. (Alderfer) Burkhart, with whom he celebrated a 62nd Wedding Anniversary on August 7th. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday January 21, 2017 at Stony Brook Mennonite Church, 15 Locust Grove Rd, York, with his Pastor James I. Heindel, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Viewings will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Friday and from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday at Stony Brook Mennonite Church. Mr. Burkhart was born on December 29, 1930 in East Berlin, PA and was a son of the late Benjamin R. and Ruthanna (Hertzler) Burkhart. Wayne was a self-employed mechanic and farmer in the Codorus Township area. He was a member of Stony Brook Mennonite Church, enjoyed farming, and was a member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau. Besides his wife, he leaves a son Geoffrey W. Burkhart and his wife Dorothy of Atglen, PA; a daughter Anna R. Martin and her husband Irvin of Stevensville, MD; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; a brother, Clair Burkhart of Cochranville, PA; and two sisters, Dorothy Yohe of Abbottstown, and Erma Herr of Gettysburg. He is preceded in death by a grandchild. Memorial contributions may be made to Stony Brook Mennonite Church, 15 Locust Grove Rd, York, Pa 17402.
