Theda A. Strayer Taylor

On Wednesday, March 24, 2021, Theda A. (Rupp) Strayer Taylor, 85, of York passed away at Rest Haven-York. She was the wife of Glenn E. Taylor for 37 years. Theda was born on July 30, 1935 in York Township, to the late Raymond and Pansy (Strayer) Rupp. She graduated from Dallastown High School, where she was the class of 1953 Valedictorian. She went on to work for Caterpillar, Inc. for 30 years until she retired. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing the organ in church, going camping, and being a motorcycle enthusiast. Theda is survived by her husband, Glenn; children, Bradley and Troy Strayer, and Delora Smith; step-children, Alfred Taylor and Lisa Root; and many grandchildren and step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a husband, Roland Strayer, who passed in 1980; her parents; one son, Wade Strayer, and one brother, Harold Rupp. A public viewing will be held on Monday, March 29, from 12pm to 1pm at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, face coverings and social distancing are required inside the funeral home. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
