Ruth H. (Strausbaugh) Wehrly, 81, of Glen Rock, died Saturday January 26, 2019 at her home. She was the wife of Charles L. Wehrly, with whom she celebrated a 62 Wedding Anniversary this past June 2. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday January 30, 2019 at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock with Rev. Dr. William L. Lindsay officiating. There will be no viewing. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:45 to 10:15 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Zion Shaffer’s Church Cemetery. Mrs. Wehrly was born in Dover Township on August 31, 1937, a daughter of the late George L. and Ruth Jennie (Gladfelter) Strausbaugh. Ruth assisted her husband and son with the operations of Wehrly’s Auction in Glen Rock for many years and also had worked at AMP Inc. for 8 years and at several local sewing companies. She was a lifelong member of Zion “Shaffer’s” United Lutheran Church, Seven Valleys. Besides her husband she leaves two sons, Scott C. Wehrly (Kathryn) of Glen Rock and Mark A. Wehrly (Allan Shelly) of Colorado Springs, CO; two grandsons, Richard Wehrly and Gerald Myers; three great grandchildren, Zane, Katlyn and Nicolas and two sisters, June Palmer of Lancaster and Geraldine Altland of Seven Valleys. She was predeceased by two daughters, Diane R. Small and Holly M. Wehrly; a granddaughter Justina R. Small and by 11 brothers and sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Shaffer’s United Lutheran Church or Zion Shaffer’s Church Cemetery, both at P.O. Box 38 Seven Valleys, PA 17360 or to Hospice and Community Care, P.O.
