On Friday, April 2, 2021, Russell T. Cook, 89, of York, formerly of Ocean City, MD passed away at ManorCare-Dallastown. He was born on December 5, 1931 in Newton, MA to the late Alton A. Cook and Marcella J. (Russell) Cook. Russell served in the US Army for two years, then attended McDaniel's College (Formerly Western Maryland College) where he received a bachelor's degree in Biology. He had worked for the American Cancer Society in Virginia as a Telemarketer, then moved to Ocean City, Maryland, where he enjoyed working for Edward's Five and Dime General Store, and Dolle's Salt Water Taffy Store. He loved politics, the Washington Redskins, the Boston Celtics and the Boston Red Sox. Russell is survived by his children, Russell A. Cook of Bel Air, MD, Cindy Cook of Olney, MD, and Allison Deschene and her husband, Ronald, of Clearwater, FL; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother and one sister. He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Marcella; and one sister, Jane Cardoza. Following cremation, services are private at the convenience of the family.
