Pearl Shaffer

Mary 'Pearl' Almony Shaffer, 94, died Saturday, August 26, at Transitions Healthcare Gettysburg. She was the wife of the late Melvin Shaffer and daughter of the late Irvin C. Almony and Emma V. Cummings Almony. Pearl was born on March 28, 1929 near White Hall, MD. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers and quilting. She made dozens of baby quilts for family and friends. She loved her cats and cared for them lovingly. She is survived by a brother, Horace Almony, of Glen Rock, and Sister, Mabel Almony

Bankert of New Freedom; and by many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Pearl's granddaughter Joy, and her husband, Jim for taking such good care of her for several years prior to making Transitions her home.  Services and interment are private. Online condolences may be made at www.geiple.com.
