Paul E. Schrum York Paul E. Schrum, 96, of North Codorus Township, died Friday May 1, 2015 at SpiriTrust Lutheran Home at Sprenkle Drive, York. He was the husband of the late Virginia A. (Myers) Schrum. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Friedensaal Lutheran Church, 9138 White Church Road, Seven Valleys with his pastor the Rev. Margareta M. Breden, officiating. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, with full military rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Viewings will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock and from 9:00 to 10:00 AM Wednesday at the church. Mr. Schrum was born in York County on October 6, 1918, a son of the late Melvin and Lillian (Brenner) Schrum. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and was employed as a Truck Chaise Inspector with Pitman Manufacturing in York until his retirement. He had also farmed in Springfield Township for most of his life. Paul was the oldest member and member of the Seven Valleys Community Fire Company, Station 62, for over 60 years. He also served for many years with the Fire Police of the Station. He was member of Friedensaal Lutheran Church and served as Treasurer for of the Sunday School. He also held membership in the Austin L. Grove American Legion Post #403, Glen Rock. Paul leaves a daughter, Yvonne A. Holt and her husband John of York; three grandchildren, Cindy A. Hollingshead and her husband Luther of Spring Grove, Tim Holt and his wife Beth of Spring Grove and Dave Holt and his wife Jaimee of Dover; nine great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren with another one on the way; three sisters, Lucy Heiner, Frances Miller, Louella Myers all of York, and a brother Curvin Schrum of Hellam. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Vicky E. Duncan and a great grandson Blaze Holt.
