Matthew Dean Johnson, aged 39, of Red Lion, PA, passed away on September 2, 2024. Born on June 17, 1985, in York, PA, he was a cherished son to the late Robert Dean Johnson and Susan Elaine Renfro-Johnson. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Dewey S. Renfro, and his paternal grandparents, Velma P. and Robert E. Johnson.
Matthew attended Susquehannock High School and dedicated his career to serving the community as a student transportation driver with Red Lion Bus Company. He was deeply passionate about his job, ensuring safe travel for the students throughout his career.
He is survived by a loving family, including his brother, Chad Dill (Angie), and sister, Kayla Boyer (Kenneth); his maternal grandmother, Janet Renfro; his niece, Jazlyn Wertz (Ethan), nephews Owen Boyer, Dalton Boyer (Emalee), Austin Landis (Kristeen), and Kyle Boyer; and his great-niece, Dakota Landis. Matthew also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss him dearly.
Matthew enjoyed spending his free time engaged in family game nights, fishing, playing video games, helping his nephew with Lego builds, and reading. His hobbies brought great joy not only to himself but also to those around him, creating cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A viewing will be held from 6-8 pm on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Geiple-Predice Funeral Home, 53 Main St, Glen Rock, PA 17327. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 1-7 pm at the Blue Gill Pavilion in William H. Kain Park, 274 Hess Farm Rd, York, PA 17407.
