Marlin Clinton Bortner, 84, of York, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026. He was born November 24, 1941 in York, PA to the late Maurice and Alverta (Miller) Bortner. He is survived by his daughter Michele Trump and her husband Jeff; grandson Chad Bish and his wife Janice and great- grandchildren Levi and Samuel Bish. Marlin was predeceased by his daughter Diana Bates.
At 14 Marlin was an apprentice barber under his father and became the youngest barber in York county at the age of 16. Marlin enjoyed farming, skeet shooting, hunting and held a pilots license and would fly the family to the beach. He also loved to work, co-owning Bel Mar Towing, where he also worked as a mechanic, Joe Spar fire extinguisher company and he would run with the local EMTs as a driver.
A viewing will be held at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock, PA 17327 on Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 6 pm to 8 pm and Friday, January 23, 2026 at St. Jacob's Stone Church, 5152 Stone Church Road, Glenville, PA 17329 from 10 am to 11 am at which time a funeral service will be held. Burial to follow at Jefferson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pappus House-Thomasville, 66 Big Mount Road, Thomasville, PA 17364.
