On Sunday, April 26, 2026, Marion J. (Stetser) Bovill, 100, of Felton, passed away peacefully with family by her side. She was the devoted wife of the late John Wesley Bovill for 48 years before his passing in 1998. She was born on February 16, 1926, in Paulsboro, NJ to the late Charles J. and Grace M. (Armbruster) Stetser.
She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Asbury College in Wilmore, KY. She then became a Captain at the Salvation Army, where she worked along side her husband for many years. Then, after being called to ministry, she assisted her husband in the many duties of Pastoral Care in South New Jersey for many years, when they both would retire. Together, they were instrumental in beginning the children's program at Delanco Camp in New Jersey.
In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards, putting puzzles together, reading - especially the bible, and serving the Lord. She was His good and Faithful Servant.
Marion is survived by four children, Janice Bovill, Susan Aspenberg and husband Jay, Marion Read and husband Bill, and John Wesley Bovill and wife Jilayne; three siblings, Russell Stetser, Grace Mello, and Marie Wuelfing; thirteen grandchildren, James Stowe, Jayson, Susan, Kerry and Grace Aspenberg, Eric, Andy, Brian and Joshua Read, Michael, Mandy, Marissa and Madilyn Bovill; and 26 great-grandchildren, Barrett, Audrey, Madyson, Bryson, Meya, Jyden, Malachi, Jossara, Lilah, Grace, Dahlia, Wesley, Bennet, Paige, Zoey, Aria, Adam, Ian, Evan, Owen, Leland, Blayne, Charlotte, Carver, Burton, and Lilianna. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and one daughter, Grace Ellen Stowe.
Services will be private at the family's convenience. Online condolences may be made under Share a Memory on this page.
