Margaretta Edna Hardy

Marge Hardy was the loving wife of the late Simeon Hardy; loving mother of Marjorie Michalisin Berg of Glen Rock, PA and Dr. Michael Michalisin of Clark's Summit, Pa; proud grandmother of Noah, Hannah and Martha Berg. She was the daughter of Margaretta "Peg" and Henry Speakman. She loved gambling, fishing, playing cards, reading, gardening, wintering in Florida, and having fun with friends and family. She was an award-winning teacher at St. Wendelin School in Butler, Pa, and was recognized by Who's Who in American Teachers twice. She also worked in Butler County Schools, and taught at Church of the Assumption School in Bellevue. She earned a BA in teaching at Slippery Rock State College. She also worked for the Blind Association of Butler County. She played several roles at Butler Little Theatre. She had fond memories with friends at the American Legion, Elk's club, Red Hatters, Swim Club, with teacher friends and her card club. She passed peacefully with family at her side at Country Meadows Retirement Community, where she was much loved by staff and residents. Services are private.
