Lestie M. Ritz

On Wednesday, January 6, 2021, Lestie M. (Hengst) Ritz, 98, of York passed away at Manor Care-North. She was the wife of the late Wilbur Ritz. Lestie was born on December 5, 1922 in Dallastown to the late George and Annie (Meyers) Hengst. In her working life, she had worked for the Charles Summer Cannery in New Freedom before retiring. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and being with her dog Patches. She is survived by her son Gene and wife Mary (Riddle) Ritz of York; a sister, June Gohn of East Berlin; three grandchildren, Julie Ingram, Ellen Scherr and Lisa Andrasko; four great-grandchildren, Jessica Miller, Alexis Costa, Jacob Ingram and Nick Costa; and one great-great-grandson, Kayden Costa. Following cremation, services will be private at the request of the family.
