John D. Tuminello, 93, of Shrewsbury, passed away on March 11, 2019. He was born in Baltimore on January 15, 1926 and was a son of the late Salvatore “Sam” and Katherine “Kate” (Tumminello) Tuminello. Formerly of Baltimore, prior to moving to Shrewsbury, he was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served as a Seaman 1st Class on the USS Quincy during WWII and had worked as a clerk for Baltimore City for many years and retired as a Greenskeeper for Baltimore City at the Mount Pleasant Golf Course. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Freedom. He was the beloved uncle to Theresa M. DiPaula (Sal), Mary “Kay” Moore (Mark) and Joanne M. Sica (Ralph) and many great nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 am Friday Mar. 15, 2019 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 315 N Constitution Ave, New Freedom, PA 17349, where a Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM with Rev. Fr. Robert A. Yohe, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens, 5598 Trumps Mill Road, Baltimore MD. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main St., Glen Rock, PA (717-235-6822) is handling the arrangements.
