Ivan E. Kowzyha

Ivan E. Kowzyha York, PA Ivan Kowzyha, 85, of York, PA, who was formerly of Ambridge, died Friday June 21, 2013 at Manor Care North, York. He was the husband of Mary E. (Bogati) Kowzyha. Mr. Kowzyha was born on August 15, 1927 in Troizka, Ukraine, a son of the late Wasyl and Olena (Woodolaska) Kowzyha. He came to the United States in 1951 and had resided in Ambridge prior to moving to York in 2001, where he and his late wife lived with his niece and nephew, Shirley and Scott Crumbling. He had worked at several companies in the Beaver Valley area including the former Valley Industrial Plastic Co, Monaca and Blaw Knox Co. Ivan leaves nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Vera Kowzyha and a brother and sister in law, Mykola “Nicky” and Frances Willoughby Kowzyha. Funeral service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock PA and the Bohn-Matich Funeral Home, Inc. Ambridge is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
