Gladys Wright

Gladys A. Wright, 95, of Spring Grove, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, with her daughter Amy by her side. Born on July 13, 1930, Gladys lived a long and meaningful life marked by love, wisdom, music, and unwavering devotion to God, her church, and her family.

She was the beloved wife of Kenneth E. Wright for 72 years and a devoted mother to four daughters: Mary Bare, Carolyn Gilbert, Linda Blankenship, and Amy Eakins. She was preceded in death by her cherished daughter, Linda Blankenship. Gladys was a proud grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of 27 loving descendants.

Those who knew Gladys will remember her remarkable storytelling, her razor-sharp memory, and her gift for bringing the past to life with vivid detail. Her passion for music lit up every room as she played gospel hymns and favorite tunes on the piano with joy and spirit. On the family farm, she worked tirelessly alongside her parents and husband, nurturing the land that sustained her growing family. She found joy in homemaking - canning food, cooking generous meals, and making everyone feel at home.

A faithful member of Bethlehem Steltz Reformed Church in Glen Rock, Gladys taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, and remained actively involved in the life of the church she loved.

Funeral services will be held at Bethlehem Steltz Reformed Church, 5890 Steltz Road, Glen Rock, PA 17327. A viewing will take place on Monday, July 28, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. John C. Dorr, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
