Edward Mebs

October 3, 1952 — November 10, 2025

Edward S. Mebs age 73 of York, PA passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 10, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

Edward grew up in Cherry Hill, NJ. He lived a full and accomplished life defined by creativity, leadership, and a deep love for his family and friends. From an early age, he showed determination and heart - becoming the youngest Eagle Scout in 1967 and carrying that same spirit throughout his life. He loved mentoring others, whether coaching football or baseball, or guiding his own children with the same encouragement he gave his players. His professional journey in sales and advertising reflected his gift for creativity and connection, and later he expressed that same passion through his work as a digital artist.

A world traveler, Edward found joy in exploring new places and cultures, always returning home with stories and inspiration to share. He had an unmatched enthusiasm for Christmas, turning every holiday into a magical celebration with his incredible decorating talents. A lifelong animal lover, he cared for every creature that crossed his path, finding joy and comfort in their presence.

Edward was married to Diane Mebs for 45 years, and together they built a loving home and family until her passing on November 10, 2019. In December 2023, he was blessed to find companionship again and married Doris (Feltenberger) Mebs, who brought him happiness and warmth, to his later years.

He is the loving and devoted father of Danielle Gauldin (Shane Dehoff), Edward S. Mebs II (Bruna), Avon Cobourne Jr. (Rebecca), Kristine Iannacchino (Vincent), & Kym Grimm. Adored Pop-Pop of Isabella, Jackson, Colin, Ashlyn, Henry, Avon, Quion, Nova, Avre, Kyra, & Jordi. Edward is also survived by his sister, Connie and Bill Whitman, and brother Charles Mebs. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Catherine Mebs

Edward will be remembered for his boundless energy, his laughter, and the love he shared so freely with everyone around him. His legacy lives on through his family, friends, and the many lives he touched.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Cape May, NJ.
