Dona Stopper

On Wednesday, September 3, 2025, Dona Wagoner Stopper, 90, formerly of Williamsport, PA, was welcomed into heaven after a short stay at SpiriTrust Lutheran, The Village at Sprenkle Drive, York, PA. She was the loving wife of the late Robert H. Stopper for 51 years.

Dona was born on March 21, 1935 in Ridgway, PA, to the late John "Jack" and Alice (Anderson) Wagoner. She graduated from Williamsport Area High School in 1953; she spent her career as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone and Williamsport Area High School. She also spent several years as the church secretary for St. John's United Methodist Church in Williamsport, PA where she was a 55 year member.

Dona enjoyed reading, knitting, sending cards to friends, ironing, and savoring vanilla ice cream. Her biggest joy was spending time with her late Hubby and her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she adored.

Dona is survived by her two daughters, Diane (Craig) Porterfield of York, PA and Renee (Gil) Johnson of Factoryville, PA; one sister, Gretchen Wagoner; five grandchildren, Joshua (Alissa) Klotz, Sarah (Dale) Grieb, Daniel (Amanda) Klotz, Bethany (Les) Todd, and Rachael Fronduti; and seven great grandchildren, David, Ethan, Emmalia, Gillian, Madison, Ella, and Ziva.

Per Dona's request the family will have a private celebration of life.

Supporting those in need through contributions to charities was important to Dona. So, in lieu of flowers, the family requests making a contribution to a charity of your choice in Dona's honor.
