It is with deeply broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Dawn Marie (Murray) Hahn, 63, in late January 2026 at her home in Stewartstown, PA.

Born May 19,1962 in Baltimore, MD, Dawn was one of 7 children born to James "Bunky" Murray of Fallston and the late Marietta (Bruno) Murray (d.2021). She was raised in a loud, loving Italian-Irish family with a horde of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins nearby; she cherished the many lively memories of her youth. Dawn attended Mercy High School where she excelled in gymnastics before graduating from Northern High in 1980. Several years and various jobs later, she went on to run a successful cleaning business which she cleverly called "Dust to Dawn." She was a self-proclaimed "neat freak," and her passion for order and cleanliness was reflected in her home, which was impeccably spotless, yet cozy and charming. A tiny petite lady, she took great pride in her appearance, always well-groomed and neatly dressed in her own low-key casual style. She kept a lint brush in every room...and her purse...and her car.

Dawn had a warm, playful, independent spirit with a generous, empathetic nature. She was fun and she could be daring. She was insightful and smart, witty, curious and irresistibly lovable...stubborn too: she had firm opinions-but was usually right! She would often say "I'm just a simple girl, living a simple life" - and it was a life well-lived. While she navigated the world with a strong resilient exterior, beneath she held a wounded heart, carrying more heaviness than people realized. Nevertheless, to know her was to love her: she was quite endearing.

Dawn is survived by her devoted love of 40 years, her "Hawny," Danny Hahn of Red Lion, PA. Together they raised a family and weathered life's greatest joys and unimaginable sorrows. Their love was a journey that always led them back to one another; in the end, they were each other's forever. Above all, Dawn was proudest of her firstborn son, Jim Snier of Jarrettsville, MD; she loved and admired him greatly for the fine man he has become. Her legacy lives on through him and her two precious grandchildren, Pierson and Elizabeth, for whom she always wished a beautiful life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved sons, Joshua Hahn (d.2018) and Gabriel Hahn (d.2019), whom she mourned to the depths of her being, carrying the weight of their absence with an unwavering love and longing until her last breath. They are now reunited and dancing joyfully in fields of peace and love.

Dawn loved music and she loved dancing. She also enjoyed watching endless Judge Judy episodes while eating her favorite: Edwards Chocolate Creme Pie...or Heath Bars...or hominy! She didn't cook often, but her signature dishes: Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Stuffed Bell Peppers were delicious favorites. Being a true Marylander, of course she enjoyed eating crabs and going down the ocean regularly. She was a Ravens/Orioles fan all the way and had the merch to prove it. The unexpected discovery of her meticulous sketches of everyday objects revealed a quiet creativity and talent she held close to her heart...who knew? She had developed a new fascination with the stars and planets in our solar system and found peace in the beautiful mysteries of the universe. In recent years she chose to live a somewhat quieter life tending to her plants and her adorable dog Bucchi, on whom she doted. They had taken a new interest in feeding and chatting with the local crows while getting in their 10,000 steps. Tragically, he was found deceased alongside her- a heartbreaking testament to the loving bond they shared, together in life and now in eternity. Run free sweet Bucchi. He was a good boy, the best boy, and he will be loved and remembered forever.

Dawn is survived by her big sisters Sharon (Murray) Seabrease (Ed) of Bel Air, MD and Brenda Murray Dye of Mt. Pleasant, SC. Together the Three Sisters formed a bond of shared history, lifelong friendship, and unconditional love. They enjoyed long phone calls, texting, and sleepovers, and had so much fun just hanging out together! Her absence is an unbearable emptiness. " Rest in peace, Baby Sis...love you Sissy-Poo... love my Seesters."

Dawn is also survived by her beloved brothers Anthony "Tony" Murray of Linthicum, MD and Steven Murray of Fallston, MD. She loved her family deeply...unconditionally.

She will be lovingly remembered as a very special Aunt Dawn to 8 nieces and nephews: Carissa, Brandon, Elliott, Jacob, Melissa, James, Tony and Cicely. She also leaves behind 6 great-nieces and nephews: Savannah, Logan, Cameron, Ben, Brandon Jr. and Luna.

Dawn is also preceded in death by her "partner-in-crime," brother James "Jimmy" Murray, (d.2008) with whom she shared a special bond, and eldest sister Linda Murray, who died in infancy (d.1955).

She was blessed with several golden friendships, including Donna Clayton, Terri Reckley, Janis Unger, and "Twins," Tommy and Timmy Gwilliams, as well as many other friends going back to the Everall Avenue years. In addition, Dawn is remembered by her many extended family members including the cherished circle of cousins who will keep her memory alive at the monthly luncheons.

It Dawns on me...

She was a tapestry of light and shadow, a beautifully complex human being, and it was a privilege to love her fully. She will be missed beyond measure and loved to infinity and beyond.

We will carry her in our hearts forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 17, 12:30-5 pm at Inverness Brewing in Monkton, MD. RSVP requested asap. Text 410-371-2262. Please join us.
