Armond Lamar Warner

Armond Lamar "Bucky" Warner, 100, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2026 at Autumn House West. He was born in Glen Rock, PA on October 14, 1925 to the late Vernon L. and Mary L. (Dise) Warner. He is survived by his daughters Jody Butler and her husband Richard of York and Julie Grothey and her husband Steve of New Freedom, grandchildren Harry Smith, Emily Grothey Wolgemuth and her husband Kevin of Delaware, Allison Grothey Head and her husband Garrett of Hanover, great-grandchildren Holt and Eve Wolgemuth, and sister Mary L. Weaver and her husband Ken of York. Bucky was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, R. Jean (Hoover) Warner, with whom he is now joyfully reunited. He is also predeceased by his brothers Roy Warner, Merle Warner and Glenn Warner.

Bucky was a graduate of Glen Rock High School class of 1942, served as a radioman in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a mill room foreman at Glen Traditionals, Inc. in Glen Rock for 40 years before retiring in 1989. He was a longtime member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Glen Rock. Bucky was an avid sports fan and loved to watch baseball, basketball, football and golf on tv, knowing all the stats of the players and teams he watched. He also enjoyed reading biographies and murder mysteries and did so well into his nineties. Bucky's life revolved around his family making sure they were taken care of. He was a generous man who loved being a dad and grandpa and was an amazing caregiver. He was known for his humor and he loved to make people laugh. Whether telling a favorite old story for the hundredth time or delivering a perfectly timed one-liner, his goal was to bring joy to the room and a smile to the faces of everyone he met. Bucky will be remembered as a devoted family man with a quick wit and a heart of gold!

A viewing will be held at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock, PA 17327 on Friday, October 2, 2026 from 10 am to 12 pm at which time a funeral service will be held. Burial to follow in the Trinity UCC cemetery in Glen Rock. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Trinity United Church of Christ, Glen Rock or to the Paul Smith Library of Southern York County.
