Anna Louise Shaulis Glen Rock Anna Louise (Havener) Shaulis, 93, of Glen Rock, died Tuesday July 2, 2013 at her home. She was the wife of the late Earl James Shaulis who passed away June 15, 1993. A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main Street, Glen Rock with a funeral service being held at 8:00 PM Friday with Pastor Bill Reed officiating. There will also be services on Saturday at Beulah United Methodist Church, 433 Bicycle Road, Friedens, PA 15541 where a viewing will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM and a funeral service being held at 2:00 PM Saturday with the Rev. Tom Brown officiating. Burial will follow the service in Beulah U.M. Church cemetery. Mrs. Shaulis was born on March 13, 1920 in Johnstown, a daughter of the late Harry R. and Dillie Mae (Rhine) Havener. She graduated from Richland High School in Johnstown in 1937 and the Hammond’s School of Beauty Culture, Johnstown in 1938 and from Thompson College, York in 1968. She married Earl and moved to Somerset, PA in 1940 and had worked as a spatter for Lytle’s Dry Cleaning in Somerset for eight years. She had worked for Shipley Humble in York, prior to working at Smith Village Furniture, Jacobus where she was a receptionist, cashier and secretary for over 18 years until her retirement in 1985. Anna was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church, Glen Rock, where she was a Sunday School Teacher for 25 years, served on the Administrative Board, as a lay leader, a communion steward for 25 years, was a member of United Methodist Church Women and attended many United Methodist Church Conferences. She was also a member of the Southern York County Sewing Club. She leaves three daughters Lois A. Frisch and her companion Tom Gottschalk of Stewartstown, Bonnie L. Hare and her husband David of Glen Rock, and Doris L. Gemmill and her husband Britt of Glen Rock; three sons, Ray N. Shaulis of Somerset, James E. Shaulis and his wife Joyce of Dallastown and Ronald D. Shaulis and his wife Judith of Dallastown; 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Daniels and Gladys Shaffer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Memorial White Rose Home Health & Hospice, 1412 Sixth Avenue, York, PA 17403. Condolences may be shared at geiple.com.
