Anna L. Myers

Anna L. Myers York New Salem Anna L. (Markel) Myers, 76, of York New Salem, died Thursday, July 25, 2013 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Mervin A. Myers to whom she was married to for 54 years on June 27, 2013. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6 York Street, Codorus, with the Rev. James Emerich officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Shaffer’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Tuesday at the Church. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main Street, Glen Rock is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Myers was born on November 26, 1936 in Hopewell Township, a daughter of Ruth S. Caslow Markel of York and the late Paul A. Markel. She retired from AMP. Inc., after 25 years of employment. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church and she enjoyed cooking for her family, camping and crocheting. Besides her husband Mervin and her mother Ruth, she leaves behind a daughter Christine A. Waltemyer and her husband Gregory of Shrewsbury, a son Ted P. Myers of Lewisberry; grandchildren Shawn G. Waltemyer, Megan C. Waltemyer, Jessica L. Myers and Joey A. Myers.; four siblings Nancy Miller of Red Lion, Glenn Markel of Red Lion, Darthy White of Roanoke, Virginia and Patricia Howard of Washington Crossing, PA. She was preceded in death by her son Joseph M. Myers and sisters Evadell Crone, Betty Smith and brothers, Jake Markel, Leroy Markel and Stuart Markel.
