Della J. Fair

Della Joan (Norwood) Fair beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend passed into God’s eternal care on September 23, 2014 with her family at her side. Della was born on February 22, 1948 to William Gilbert Norwood and Inez Elizabeth (Pickett) Norwood. She reeled in the greatest catch of her life when she married David Paul Fair on October 15, 1967. Della and David shared 47 loving years of marriage and were blessed with seven children (their living menorah), twenty grandchildren, and one future great grandchild. Della was a member of the Shrewsbury Assembly of God Church Choir. Della loved gardening and sharing the fruits of her labor with family and friends. She enjoyed cooking. Her famous recipes include shepherds’ pie, potato salad, pumpkin pie, and chocolate chip cookies. (For more recipes see her son chef Jeremy). Most of all, Della loved spending time with her grand children. Della was a devout Christian. She spent her life recognizing and adoring the works of God around her. She acted as God’s humble conduit to those in need including blind and deaf friends. Della is survived by her husband David, her sons; David, Stephen, Jason, Jeremy and Benjamin, her daughters; Susan and Joy, her brothers; Billy and Gilbert Norwood her sisters; Irene and Martha Norwood, twenty grand children and one great grand child to be. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday September 26, 2014 at Christ Lutheran Church: 105 S Main St, Shrewsbury, PA 17361. Viewings for family and friends will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at the Geiple Funeral Home, 53 Main St. Glen Rock, PA 17327 and at 10:00 to 11:00 AM Friday at the church. Burial will be Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock, PA 17327, to defray funeral costs.
