Evelyn G. Brown, 91, of Rest Haven York, who was formerly of Normandie Ridge and the Hahn Home, died Wednesday February 2, 2011 at the home.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, February 7, 2011 at the Union Cemetery, Church Street, Glen Rock, with Thomas Irwin, officiating.
There will be no viewing. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main Street, Glen Rock is in charge of the arrangements.
Miss Brown was born on September 23, 1919 in Glen Rock, a daughter of the late Thomas M. “Tim” and Gertrude (Shafer) Brown.
She was employed as a waitress at several restaurants, including the former Ramona Restaurant and was a clerk at several stores in the York area until her retirement in 1987.
She was in fellowship with the North York Gospel Chapel and was a former member of the YWCA Women’s Club, Leisure Club of York, and the Axillaries of the Salvation Army, the Historical Society of York and Normandie Ridge.
She had lived in Glen Rock, prior to moving to York in 1966 and was a resident of the Hahn Home prior to moving to Normandie Ridge.
