Richard C. “Dick” Amspacher
Spring Grove

Richard C. “Dick” Amspacher, 54, of Spring Grove, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at his home on Sunday, July 11, 2010, with his family by his side.  He was the husband of Debra S. (Stermer) Amspacher, with whom he celebrated a 33rd Wedding Anniversary this past June 4th.
         Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, July 15, 2010 at St. Paul’s Wolf’s Evangelical Covenant Church, 4501 Wolf’s Church Road, York, with the Rev. Philip Cialini, Visitation Pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in Zion Shaffers Church Cemetery, Seven Valleys.  Viewings will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Wednesday at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock and from 9:45 to 10:45 AM Thursday at the church.
         Dick was born on August 1, 1955 in Hanover, a son of Ella L. (Lemmon) Amspacher of Shrewsbury and the late Edwin N. Amspacher.
He graduated in 1973 from Susquehannock High School and received his Bachelors Degree in Accounting from York College in 1977.
         He was employed as a Financial Advisor with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in York and prior to that was Vice President of Finance with the Topflight Corporation in Glen Rock for over 25 years.
         Dick enjoyed all sports and was an avid New York Yankee fan.  He played baseball with his high school, college and several teams in the York County Central League.  He was also inducted into the York College Sports Hall of Fame and the Central League Hall of Fame.
         He was a loving husband, father and brother and will be missed by his family and his many friends.  
         Besides his wife and mother, he leaves a daughter, Erin J. Amspacher of Spring Grove; a son, Gregory R. Amspacher and his wife Nila of Camp Hill; three sisters, Dolores A. Thoman of Hanover, Peggy J. Shaffer and Linda L. Wolfe, both of York; five brothers, Edwin W. Amspacher and Thomas L. Amspacher both of York, John A. Amspacher of Glen Rock, James M. Amspacher of Codorus and Donald C. Amspacher of Landisville.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert F. Amspacher.
         In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Four Diamonds Fund, P.O. Box 852, Hershey PA 17033-0852 or to the Windy Hill Senior Center, Inc., 50 North East Street, Suite 2, Spring Grove, PA 17362 or a charity of your choice.
