Edna Turk
York

Edna (Green) Turk, 88, of York, died Wednesday, January 26, 2011, at Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.  She was the wife of the late William Turk and Stanley Tatken.   
        Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday January 31, 2011 at Arlington Memorial Park, Atlanta GA.  The Dressler’s Jewish Funeral Care, Atlanta GA is in charge of the arrangements.  
        Mrs. Turk was born on June 8, 1922 in New York City, a daughter of the late Jacob and Mollie (Sperling) Green.
         She was employed as the manager of the shoe department at the former Jack’s Department Store in York and was a former member of the Ohev Sholom Congregation and the Sisterhood of the Synagogue.
         She leaves two sons, Rodger Tatken of Cincinnati Ohio and Wayne Tatken of Palm Coast, FL, two grandchildren, and a sister, Helen Scherr of Roswell, GA and nieces and nephews.
          In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jewish Family Services of York, 2000 Hollywood Drive, York, PA 17403 or to the American Cancer Society, 924N Colonial Avenue, York, PA 17403.
