Marie D. Winemiller

Marie (Dayton) Winemiller, 87, of Manor Care North, who was formerly of Glen Rock, died Tuesday January 24, 2012 at the home.  She was the wife of the late Lawrence L. Winemiller.
    Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 27, 2012 at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock, with her pastor the Rev. Timothy L. Shuey, officiating.  Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Glen Rock.  A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.
   Mrs. Winemiller was born on January 13, 1925 in Johnson City, TN, a daughter of the late Harrison B. and Bunia (Arrowood) Dayton.
  She was a member of the York Alliance Church, where she had sung on the Church choir and taught Sunday School for many years.  As a teenager, her family and she had played gospel music at local Sunday School Picnic’s and other programs. She had also served as a Den Mother for Cub Pack 48, Glen Rock and was a member of the former Ladies Auxiliary of the Glen Rock Hose and Ladder Fire Co.
   Marie will be deeply missed by her daughters, Bonnie L. Keller and her husband John, of York; Luann Mundis of York; her son, Jack L. Winemiller and his wife Linda of York, her four grandchildren and six great grandchildren and her brother, Granville “Jack” Dayton and his wife Nancy of York. She was predeceased by three sisters, Opal Dayton, Effie Kopp, and Geneva Lauer.
  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3544 N. Progress Ave. Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or to the American Cancer Society, 924-N Colonial Ave. York, PA 17403.
